Clarissa Harwell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and homeschooling parent. She completed her undergraduate degree at New College of California with a dual-specialization in Psychology and Social Change, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Clarissa works as a crisis clinician and maintains a private practice, providing therapy for children, teens, and their parents. Her areas of focus are trauma, family systems, and working with parents to increase positive connections with their child(ren). She works with gender-expansive and trans youth and has expertise in the areas of suicide, self-harm, and oppositional behavior. She infuses humor and play (yes, even with adult clients) into her sessions and can often be found sitting on the floor with clients and reminding them that all their feelings are invited to the session.
