Hi, my name is Kimberly Aguilar. I was born in Lake Forest, IL, a Midwestern girl; I grew up in drama and dance and was a swimmer and involved in many clubs and service organizations in high school. In 1998, I was accepted into Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, in the Telecommunications, Broadcast Journalism program. I attended for four years, interned for Fox “Good Day LA” and ABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News. My first job was booking commercials on television in Los Angeles. A couple of years later, I met my husband, who is from Orange County, CA. I decided to pursue our relationship further and moved to the beautiful OC.

I got my start in marketing at the Braille Institute, and I have been in marketing ever since. I have worked in non-profit, healthcare, trade shows, and now Compass Charter Schools. Also, during this time, I had two children. My eldest son Noah is now ten and severely autistic; he is amazing and has taught me SO much. We have been through so much with him, with therapy, doctor’s appointments, and school, but he is doing amazing. My daughter is six, and she is exceptionally precocious, social, and creative. My husband, Carlos and I have been together for 15 years. We love hiking, movies, Netflix, wine tasting, the ocean, friends, and family. I have just been thrust into homeschooling a feisty daughter and special needs son while holding down a full-time job, and it is challenging! I write all the weekly blogs for Compass Charter Schools, which focus this month has been coping with working and teaching from home.
