I have always been in awe of young children and knew as soon as I had my first babysitting job, that working with kids was what I wanted to do. While earning my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, I became fascinated by learning about brain development and the maturity that happens within the first five years of a child's life and knew that was the age range I was meant to work with.

As a Preschool Director and Preschool Consultation Specialist I was able to create opportunities for children to learn by teaching parents and preschool staff a variety of techniques to embed academics within children's play. As a Parenting Consultant, I helped parents and teachers determine the causes of their child's behavior, recommending age-appropriate solutions through behavior training and support.

I currently work as an Early Childhood Developmental Specialist with infants and toddlers with special needs. This career allowed me to join all three of my passions together; helping children, supporting parents, and educating professionals.

In order to stay in the Preschool realm, I started JDEducational.com, a website filled with resources for Parents and Teachers that includes play-based, age-appropriate activities that support children's developmental milestones, preparing them for Kindergarten and beyond.

I have also written three children’s books to create “Sammy Stories” that teach emotional development skills through play. My dream is for JDEducational to empower Preschool Teachers and Parents to create, explore, and experience their child's love for learning.
