As soon as I began taking classes in Psychology, I knew I wanted to serve my community as a therapist. It wasn't until I took Psychology of Families at the University of Kansas that I realized my passion for couples and families. As the class progressed, I felt enlightened as I learned about family dynamics and how families operate. This curiosity is what led me to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Since earning my Master’s Degree in 2010 from Friends University, I have opened JS Therapy Group, LLC, a multidisciplinary group practice in the Kansas City Metro. I have earned a certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based model to help individuals, couples, and families build secure emotional bonds. I also enjoy mentoring new graduates. I am a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor in the state of Kansas, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor and an Emotionally Focused Therapy Supervisor-in-Training.
